Night Vision is the ability to take a little bit of light and amplify it into visable light. Night Vision works by collecting and converting light photons into electrons, accelerating the electrons and focusing the electrons on a screen that converts the electrons into visable light ; all you need is a little ambient light. Night Vision will not work in complete darkness without the assistance of Infra-red enhancements. Night Vision is an electronically enhanced viewing, you are not actually viewing the scene in front of you, the image being viewed is actually a video image of the scene with an extremely high sensitivity to light.
